|
|
Hello,
An experimental off-site backup server is now available for download. It is meant as a supplement to the regular peer-to-peer backup functionality. When used with the experimental off-site backup support enabled, Magic Mirror Backup will backup both to peers on your local network and to a remote web server that you set up. The remote web server should be running PHP 4.2 or greater (it has not been tested with PHP 5). Setting up the server portion of this does require a bit more technical expertise than using the regular Magic Mirror Backup program, so it is recommended that you already have experience in administering web servers running PHP. To download the distribution which will allow you to add off-site backup support to Magic Mirror Backup, go to:

If you have questions about the off-site backup or have trouble setting it up, please respond to this post or start a new topic in this support forum.
Thanks,
- Tim Macinta

Hi Tim,
I tried downloading the server product and got a corrupted zip file. It came in at 4 kb and was totally unreadable by winrar or windows native decompressor. |

Hello MCH,
Can you try the download in a different browser and see if that helps? It looks like you were using Firefox 1.5. I'm still running Firefox 1.0 myself, and the download works fine in that, so I'm not sure why it would break with 1.5, but it's a possibility. The server logs indicate that the full file was sent. If you can try another browser, the full file should be 22,060 bytes with an MD5 checksum of 60a5f1bea204d3b48ba7a1196901df0f.
Thanks,
- Tim Macinta
